The tour covers four of Nepal’s most attractive destinations: Kathmandu Valley, Bandipur, Pokhara and Chitwan National Park. Every location offers a completely different photography experience. You can capture ancient temples and colourful street life in Kathmandu, traditional Newari houses and hill villages in Bandipur, Himalayan reflections and sunrise scenery in Pokhara, and wild animals and birds in Chitwan.
The journey begins in Kathmandu, where old courtyards, Buddhist stupas, Hindu temples, local markets, artisans and everyday city life provide endless opportunities for cultural and street photography. Early mornings and late afternoons are reserved whenever possible for the most beautiful natural light.
From Kathmandu, the tour continues to Bandipur, a peaceful hilltop settlement known for its preserved Newari architecture, stone-paved streets and traditional atmosphere. Bandipur offers impressive views of the surrounding hills and Himalayan mountains without the crowds found in larger tourist destinations.
The next destination is Pokhara, Nepal’s beautiful lake city and the gateway to the Annapurna region. Here, photographers can capture sunrise from Sarangkot, colourful boats on Phewa Lake, rural life, waterfalls, caves and panoramic views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre and other Himalayan peaks.
The final photographic destination is Chitwan National Park. A guided jeep safari, nature walk, canoe experience and birdwatching activities create opportunities to photograph one-horned rhinoceroses, deer, crocodiles, monkeys, elephants, birds and other wildlife. Bengal tigers live inside the national park, but sightings are rare and cannot be guaranteed.
This is not a physically demanding trek. It is a comfortable cultural and nature tour with short walks, sunrise outings and wildlife activities. The daily schedule remains flexible so photographers have enough time to observe, compose and wait for the right moment.

This photography journey takes place in central and south-central Nepal.
Kathmandu is Nepal’s capital and the arrival point for most international travellers. The valley contains centuries-old palaces, Buddhist stupas, Hindu temples, monasteries, traditional settlements and busy local markets.
The tour may include Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath and selected traditional neighbourhoods. The exact locations can be adjusted according to festivals, weather, lighting and local conditions.
Bandipur is a traditional hill town in Tanahun District, between Kathmandu and Pokhara. It stands on a ridge overlooking the surrounding valleys and hills. Its preserved houses, pedestrian streets, temples and mountain views make it especially attractive for architecture, portrait and village photography.
Pokhara is located approximately 200 kilometres west of Kathmandu. It is famous for Phewa Lake and its views of the Annapurna mountain range. Sarangkot, located above Pokhara, is one of Nepal’s most popular sunrise viewpoints.
Chitwan is situated in the subtropical lowlands of south-central Nepal. Nepal’s first national park protects an important habitat for one-horned rhinoceroses, Bengal tigers, crocodiles, deer, monkeys and many bird species. Wildlife sightings depend on nature, weather and seasonal conditions.
Accommodation is provided in comfortable hotels in Kathmandu, Bandipur and Pokhara and in a hotel or jungle lodge near Chitwan National Park.
Rooms are generally provided on a twin-sharing basis. Single rooms can be arranged at an additional cost.

After breakfast, begin a full day of cultural and architectural photography in Kathmandu Valley.
The day may include Kathmandu Durbar Square, where temples, courtyards, palace buildings and local life create excellent photographic subjects. Continue through traditional streets and markets to capture artisans, vendors, religious details and everyday city life.
Later, visit Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple. Its hilltop position provides views across Kathmandu Valley, while prayer flags, stupas, shrines and monkeys offer varied compositions.

Visit two of Kathmandu’s most spiritually important locations.
Begin at Boudhanath, one of Nepal’s largest Buddhist stupas. Photograph pilgrims walking around the stupa, spinning prayer wheels, lighting butter lamps and performing daily rituals. Monasteries, rooftop viewpoints and prayer flags provide excellent opportunities for detail and environmental photography.
Continue to Pashupatinath, an important Hindu temple complex on the banks of the Bagmati River. Photography must be undertaken sensitively because religious ceremonies and cremations take place here. Your guide will explain where photography is permitted and how to behave respectfully.
An optional evening photography session can be arranged at Boudhanath when the stupa and surrounding buildings are illuminated.

If the sky remains clear, enjoy sunset photography beside the lake. The changing evening colours can create attractive silhouettes and reflections.

After the sunrise session, return to Pokhara for breakfast. Continue with a sightseeing and photography tour that may include Davis Falls, Gupteshwor Cave, the Seti River Gorge and the International Mountain Museum.
In the late afternoon, return to Phewa Lake for golden-hour photography. Weather permitting, the mountains may reflect beautifully on the water.
