The hike around Kathmandu Valley is a pleasant trip through this culturally gifted city. However, only a few people choose to trek around Kathmandu and its neighboring districts. The trek around the valley takes you to the Shivapuri hill (2729m), from where a range of Himalayas can be seen. The peaks that are visible from this hill are the Boudha Himal, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himal, Dorje Lakpa, Shisa Pangma, and the Gaurishankar mountains. However, the peaks that can be seen once atop Shivapuri are not limited to these mountains.
We also visit Nagarkot during this trip. Nagarkot is another fine point to take in the Himalayan scenery. From here we can see the sun disappear behind the mountains at a distance. From Nagarkot, we drive to the city of Kathmandu and our short trek thus ends.
