LOCAL VILLAGE HOMESTAYS IN NEPAL
During your holidays in Nepal stay in a rural local village homestay, live a unique experience, and be treated as a local rather than as a guest.
At Peace Nepal Treks we do not see our customers as just clients. We see them as our friends, and as any friend would to another. We invite you to stay in our homes. Unlike other commercial “Local village homestay packages”, we offer a totally different experience in a remote but beautiful Nepali village. Since there are no hotels or lodges in Thulo Parsel. We can only take four homestay guests at a time. It will be about a five-hour drive from Kathmandu into the hills.
You will be driving about 75km from Kathmandu to my home village town of Thulo Parsel on the foot of the Himalayan range. We will be passing many up and down off-road through the SunKoshi River where you can get an impression and fulfilling experience of how Nepalese people live in the village.
We will spend the day exploring Thulo Parsel village – meet and experience my village and the local people, the agriculture, monastery. Lastly, for the final day, we will drive to Narayan temple visit, Yari Naag and the Guru Rimpoche meditation cave (see the footprint of Guru Rinpoche), with the mountain peaks of Langtang region Himalaya ranges in the background and take a Jeep drive back to Kathmandu.
These one-night/two days or two nights/ three days programs will leave you a great impression of the beautiful nature and also some of the different castes in Nepal.

| Day 01 | Drive Katmandu to Thuloparsel Village 75KM by local bus transportation driving about 6 hours, and about 4 hours driving by private Jeep, overnight stay in local farmer’s homestay. Today, we drive Kathmandu to Thuloparsel local village for about 4 hours including a good road and off-road by private jeep. We were welcomed as family guests in a farmer’s home. We have lunch at the same place in the local homestay host. And after lunch, we walk around the local village, 5 Buddha statues, and monastery, and around the agricultural farming. Overnight stay with local village farmer’s homestay. |
| Day 02 | Next day morning: after having breakfast, we drive about half an hour uphill through the YARI NAAG and the temple of Narayan situated and visit the temple, then drive next destination towards the Guru Rimpoche meditation cave and the footprint of Guru Rimpoche. After visiting the cave and observing the footprint of Rimpoche, we drive towards Kathmandu and have lunch on the way to Bakunde Besi. |
Price: For foreigner Guest USD $45 per person (based on two people), One night/two days program. For Nepali guests – Rs.1500 per person, (Basis of group 6 people)
Note: Private vehicle Scorpio can be arranged which will cost around USD $115 extra (between two people or can be shared with a group of 6 people)

We can participate in daily household work by observing farming activities cleaning, harvesting, collecting grass/woods, planting and feeding cattle, etc. And as well can take an experience of culture, their daily life, history with visiting relatives or neighborhood of host family interaction & overnight stay in village farmer’s homestay. |

To be a visitor in Thulo Parsel, where there are no hotels and lodges, is something special. Many of the villagers have never left the area. And like the “Mountain People” know only the life around them. Running water was only brought to the village in 1999 and electricity comes and goes. But we believe this is what true Nepali life is like and want our friends to see it as it is.
During your stay in the village, we will take you for two days on a local farm. You can see how the Nepali people get their produce and live off the land. We think this will be both interesting and educational for our visitors. After that, it is a final night back in Kathmandu and the option of another night at home or an evening in the town.
We believe we’re the only company offering this personal trip. It’s a true insight into Nepali life. The trip is not at all luxurious. It suits travelers who are happy to rough it and want a true taste of how we live. Prices may vary depending on the time of year you plan to travel.
