The 7-Day Luxury Everest View Trek with Base Camp Helicopter Tour is designed for travellers who want to experience the beauty of the Everest region without completing the full two-week trek. This journey combines Kathmandu sightseeing, a scenic flight to Lukla, three days of trekking, comfortable mountain lodges and an unforgettable helicopter flight over Everest Base Camp.
For travellers who want to walk the complete route, Peace Nepal Treks also offers the classic Everest Base Camp Trek.
Your journey begins with a comfortable stay at Hotel Barahi Kathmandu. You will visit some of Kathmandu’s important cultural and historical sites, including Swayambhunath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Thamel and traditional local markets.
This sightseeing day also gives you time to rest, prepare your trekking equipment and meet your trekking guide. You can explore more options through our Nepal tours and easy hiking packages.
The Everest adventure begins with an exciting flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. During the flight, you can enjoy beautiful views of green hills, deep valleys and snow-covered Himalayan mountains.
After arriving in Lukla, you will begin trekking towards Phakding. The trail passes through peaceful Sherpa villages, pine forests, prayer walls and beautiful river valleys. You will stay overnight at The Himalayan Phakding, where you can relax in comfortable surroundings.
The following morning, you will continue walking alongside the Dudh Koshi River. You will cross several suspension bridges and enter Sagarmatha National Park.
The park is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its outstanding natural beauty, unique Himalayan landscape and cultural importance. You can learn more from the official UNESCO Sagarmatha National Park page.
The trail gradually climbs towards Namche Bazaar, situated at approximately 3,440 metres. Namche is the main Sherpa town and trading centre of the Everest region. You will stay at Yeti Mountain Home, where you can enjoy comfortable rooms, good food and beautiful mountain surroundings.
From Namche Bazaar, you will take a shorter uphill walk to the famous Hotel Everest View, situated at approximately 3,880 metres.
Along the way, you can visit the Sagarmatha National Park Museum and enjoy panoramic views over Namche Bazaar. In clear weather, you may see Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and several other Himalayan peaks.
Staying overnight at Hotel Everest View allows you to enjoy the peaceful mountain atmosphere and beautiful sunrise views without rushing.
The main highlight of the journey is the spectacular Everest Base Camp helicopter tour. The helicopter will collect you from the Everest View area and fly towards the upper Khumbu region.
During the flight, you can enjoy aerial views of:
Depending on the weather, passenger weight, official aviation regulations and safety conditions, the helicopter may make a brief landing near Kala Patthar, at approximately 5,545 metres.
The landing normally lasts around 5–10 minutes because of the high altitude. Kala Patthar offers one of the finest close-range views of Mount Everest.
However, a high-altitude landing cannot be guaranteed. The final decision will always be made by the helicopter pilot according to the weather, official permission and passenger safety. When landing is not possible, the pilot will provide the best available scenic flyover.
After completing the helicopter tour, you will fly back to Kathmandu and return to Hotel Barahi.
On the final day, you may have free time to explore Thamel, visit local markets or purchase souvenirs. Our representative will then transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure.
