Where is Nepal?

Nepal is located in South Asia and is bordered by China to the North and India to the East, West, and South.

What is trekking?

Trekking is an adventure activity that generally involves walking from one place to another every day.

What is a tea house trek?

Tea Houses are local lodges where you get to eat and sleep during your trek. There are plenty of tea houses across all the trekking routes in Nepal. A tea house trek means that you get to stop and rest each day at a tea house during your trekking period. Unlike camping treks, you don’t have to carry food, tents, and other items during a tea house trek.

What is a camping trek?

Camping treks require us to carry tents, kitchen gear, food, and other pieces of equipment. Unlike tea house treks camping treks are more adventurous.

Where is Everest?

Mount Everest is located in the Himalayas of Nepal.

Are you a government-authorized trekking agency?

Yes, we are a government-authorized trekking and expedition agency and are associated with the NMA, and TAAN, and are a member of the NTB.

How do I get to Nepal?

You need a visa to visit Nepal. You can easily get a visa upon your arrival at the International airport in Nepal by paying USD $40 for a month and USD $90 for a 90-day period.

How do I book a trek with you?

After you choose an itinerary that suits you best, a small contract between you and Peace Nepal Treks ℗ Ltd shall be made and signed upon.

Do the guides and support staff speak English?

Our guides do speak English but not very fluently because English is our third language for us. Some of the support staff do speak a little English while some do not understand the language at all.

What is the group size for the trek?

There are no restrictions on the size of a group. In the past, we have had groups of more than fifty. We provide the same services to an individual as well as a group.

How is the food on a tea house trek?

Every tea house has its own menu and you get to choose what you want on your plate. Usually, the menu consists of local delicacies.

What about security during the trek?

We are very concerned about the safety and security of both our clients and our staff. Our guides have experience in handling any situation and will look after you during the entire trek.

How is the food on the Camping trek?

During camping treks, an expert cook accompanies us and serves the best local dishes on our plates.

Do you arrange Domestic and International flight tickets?

Yes, we arrange both domestic and international flight tickets.

Do you provide any trekking and climbing equipment?

Actually, we do not provide any of your personal equipment and climbing gear during your holiday here, but if you wish we can help to hire in Kathmandu.

How long do we walk each day?

Normally, we walk for 5 to 6 hours each day.

What is the best season for a trek?

While there are no seasonal constraints on traveling to Nepal, different regions are best visited in different seasons. Enquire about any trekking region and we will tell you about the best season to visit that area.

Usually, March/April/May and September/October/November are the most suitable months for trekking.

What in case of emergencies?

In case of any emergencies, we will do everything we can to help you. First, you must have an insurance policy that covers such situations. For example, if you need a helicopter rescue or if you need immediate medical attention we will be there for you.

Is it OK to travel alone?

Yes, you can travel alone but we recommend that you take at least one guide with you. This is because you may need assistance in case you are sick or stuck in a difficult situation.

Do I need a trekking permit?

Yes, you need trekking permits while trekking in Nepal. We help you in getting legal permits for almost any trekking region.

How should I dress during the trek?

While trekking in lower altitudes, shorts, and T-shirts will do. But, as the trek gains altitude warm clothes, especially a cap are a must. Keeping your head warm means preventing a headache and altitude sickness.

Where can I store some personal items before the trek?

If you wish, you can store any personal items at your hotel in Kathmandu or at our office.

What else should I bring for the trek?

A warm sleeping bag, jacket, and trekking shoes are a must for the trek. Do remember to bring your camera as well.

Can I change the program schedule?

Yes, you can change the program schedule after discussing it with your guide.

What about drinking water during the trek?

During camping treks, we provide boiled drinking water. As for the tea house treks, you can buy mineral water at each tea house.

Do I need experience in trekking?

Trekking does not require any experience and is suitable for people of all age groups. However physical fitness is required for a trek.

Do you accept credit card payments?

Although we prefer receiving cash payment after your arrival, we do accept credit cards as well.

Is it possible to hire trekking types of equipment in Kathmandu?

Yes, you can hire all the required trekking equipment in Kathmandu and we help you in doing so.

What about telephone and internet facilities during the trek?

Almost all the trekking routes have telephone and internet facilities.

Can I charge batteries during the trek?

Electricity is available in some of the tea houses that we visit during the trek. You can charge your batteries there.

What do I do if I am sick in the mountains?

First, we suggest that you drink 4 liters of water every day. In case you get sick we provide you with hot drinks and general medication. If this doesn’t work, you will be taken to a lower altitude to help you feel better.
