This is very challenging trekking and we don't recommend it for beginners. You must be physically ready for the hike. High altitude has challenges for everyone and can also pose a serious challenge to people with unfit conditions and/or medical issues. For the fitter, this is a beautiful trek that encourages your progress even greater!
Although tipping hiking guides and porters isn't essential, it is recommended and expected and is generally beneficial. This rewards them for providing the service they have received and supports fairly low wages. The region is also home to a full flow of streams, rivers, lakes, and waterfalls.

In addition, the weather in the autumn season provides trekkers with better visibility and a cooler temperature. It is a beautiful time to hike, especially in the evenings.
Larke Pass, also known as Larkya La Pass, is located in the Manaslu region of Nepal, which lies in the western part of the country. It is a mountain pass that sits along the Manaslu Circuit Trek, a popular trekking route in the Himalayas.

Crossing Larke Pass is a challenging and rewarding endeavor, as trekkers navigate steep ascents and descents, often amidst snow and rugged terrain. However, the sense of achievement and the stunning vistas that await at the top of Larke Pass make it a memorable and worthwhile experience for adventurers exploring the Manaslu region.

Whether you are a seasoned trekker or someone with limited trekking experience, you will need the right Manaslu trekking equipment to get the most out of your trip. You may want to rent some gear from a trekking store in Thamel, Nepal before you set out on your trek.
It's also a good idea to carry a first aid kit with you. This will help you to handle minor injuries or illnesses. You may also want to bring some water purification tablets, which can be bought in Nepal. These can help you stay hydrated at higher altitudes.
You will also want to pack some warm clothing. It's important to wear layers, so your body can stay warm while you're trekking. You can also wear a warm hat and UV protection sunglasses.
You can also use gaiters to protect your shoes from stones and rain. These are especially useful if you plan on trekking in the winter. They also help to protect your feet from mud and leeches.
For sleeping, you will want to pack a warm sleeping bag. You may also want to pack a sleeping bag liner, which will help keep your sleeping bag from getting dirty. This will also help you to have a better night's sleep.
You will also need to carry toiletries, such as shampoo and soap. You may also want to bring hand sanitizer, as well as feminine hygiene products. You should also bring a pair of gloves, as the cold weather will often freeze your hands.

We begin our walk from Samdo to Dharmasala, where we'll spend the night before crossing the Larkya La pass the next day. It takes about 4 hours to walk from Samdo to Dharmasala. We'll use this time to get ready for the big hike the following day when we'll cross the Larkya La pass.
Today is a big day because we'll reach the Larkya La pass, which is at an altitude of 5,160 meters. From there, we'll get to see beautiful views of the mountains. Walking from Bimtang to Dharapani will take a long time, around 9 hours. Along the way, we'll join the Annapurna tourist highway and start to miss the peaceful days we had in Manaslu. We'll spend the night in Dharapani.
Today, we'll ride together in a local jeep from Dharapani to Besi Sahar. From there, you can take another local bus or transport to go back to Kathmandu or head to Pokhara city. This marks the end of our 12-day trekking journey, filled with happiness and fun. Hopefully, you've experienced some of the mountain life in Nepal and enjoyed your time here.

Around Manaslu trek Thanks to Nir and the team for organizing this fantastic trek and making our experience in Nepal an unforgettable one!!! Nir welcomed us at the airport on the first day and took the time to explain to us all aspects of the trek. His knowledge and experience were really appreciated :-). We met our guide and porter, Kama Dawa Sherpa and Nangche Sherpa on the day before the departure and were very pleased to share with them two weeks of trekking. Besides being attentive to us, and checking on our well-being, we have lots of fun with Kama Dawa and Nangche and shared a great moment with them. We felt really lucky to share this trek with them and were an essential part of the success of the trek! Nir arranged our keep part of our luggage and deliver them to a different city at the end of the trek, enabling us to leave as light as possible. We had the possibility to meet him on the way back and discuss our experience and potential new adventures 😉 I would without any doubt recommend the Peace Nepal trek for your next trek in Nepal, and look forward to the next time I will have the opportunity to visit Nepal, what a beautiful country!!
Fantastic Experience! We did the Manaslu trek with 2 friends, for our first experience in Nepal. Nir has been so great since the first email; very responsive and super helpful in helping us identify the best trek as per our expectations and wishes. He picked us up at the airport in person, came with us the first day to change currency, indicated to us a great place to eat, checked we had all necessary gear, and provided what I missed at no additional costs. One week after the end of the trek when we organized ourselves around Nepal, he met with us in Kathmandu and organized our transport to the airport. He works with a great staff. Our guide Kamadawa and our porter Nangche (Kamadawa's brother) were great during the entire trek: patients, fun, insightful, and supportive. They definitely put the customer's experience as their priority and it felt more friendship relation than business. I am considering going back soon for more trekking, and would definitely go back with the same team!
My name is Raymond van Driel, I live in the Netherlands and I’m a repeat customer of Peace Nepal Treks (p) Ltd. In 2002 my girlfriend and I and two friends wanted to do the Manaslu Circuit Trek in Nepal. We emailed a few trekking companies in Nepal but Peace Nepal Treks (p) Ltd. turned out to be one of the quickest in response and they offered a very nice itinerary at a good price. The services of Peace Nepal Treks were so excellent. We had an experienced guide, a great cook and the staff turned out to be very friendly and helpful. In 2003 my girlfriend and I planned a 6 months world travel that would start in Nepal. Without hesitation we wanted to do a trek with Peace Nepal Treks again, this time we went to Dolpo. Again, it lived up to all our expectations. In the past I have done treks in North America, South America and Africa and these guys belong to the best. I would recommend them to anyone, both experienced and inexperienced trekkers. Personally I always carry my backpack myself but this is not mandatory at all, you can also only carry a daypack. Peace Nepal Treks has a complete portfolio of treks for both the starters and the die-hards and of course every type of trekker in between. If you have any questions regarding Peace Nepal Treks, feel free to email me with any questions you have.

Apart from the diverse culture, you will be gifted with the unforgettable beautiful mountain scenery of Manaslu Himal, Larkya Peak, Panbari, Samdo Himal, Nirekha, Saula, Khayang, Lamjung Himal, and Annapurna from the Larke La Pass.
There will be basic accommodation in every tea house for your meals and lodging with two single-bedroom and a shared bathroom. Single-room accommodation is more difficult to find here. At Dharmasala, there might be a need to camp overnight in a tent if there are no tea houses available.
The transport from Kathmandu to the starting point, MachhaKhola, can be via local bus or private jeep hiring. From the ending point, Dharapani to Besisahar, it will be via a local jeep with cost-sharing per person. Finally, the transport from Besisahar to Kathmandu can be arranged with either a local bus or private transport as per your budget and needs.
During the trek, WIFI and telephone services are available in most places which will incur additional costs. The connection might be intermittent at times. For any emergencies, you can use the local satellite phone.
As meals are excluded from our package, you will be required to pay for your own meals during the trek. You will pass by several tea houses each day during the trek and can pause for midday lunch anywhere according to individual preferences. Dinner and Breakfast will be served at the lodging for the night.
Prices are stated in the menu for those who are on a tight budget. Nepali food (e.g. DaahlBhat/lentils/pickle and vegetables) and spaghetti/pasta/soup/fried noodles/Thukpa/Tibetan bread etc. are among some of the common food choices available. You can bring along some snacks such as chocolate bars or restock along the trek if it runs out.
Among the four seasons of the Annapurna Region, Manaslu is the best for trekking. Besides its magnificent beauty, Manaslu offers you a serene trek. The region offers clear blue skies and snow-clad mountains. The lower regions of the trek are awash with colorful rhododendron blooms. The region is also home to a full flow of streams, rivers, lakes, and waterfalls.
During the fall season, Manaslu is a perfect destination for a trek. The region's weather is dry, and there are few hikers compared to other classical trails in Nepal. In addition, the weather in the autumn season provides trekkers with better visibility and a cooler temperature. It is a beautiful time to hike, especially in the evenings.
The Manaslu Trek begins in Kathmandu. We'll start by going to the Gongabu bus park, where we'll catch a local bus to Machhakhola. Our guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the bus park. The bus leaves early in the morning around 6:30 AM. If your hotel provides breakfast, you can ask them to pack it for you.
During the journey, the bus will stop for breakfast, toilet breaks, and lunch. You can have a traditional Nepali meal called "Nepali Set" or choose a lighter lunch option. The drive takes about 8 to 9 hours to reach Machha Khola, where we'll spend the night in a lodge.
The place where we're staying in JAGAT is the checkpoint for MCAP. We kept walking through Khorlabesi, passing a few houses, and then we passed Tatopani, where there are natural hot springs with minerals. We'll keep walking until we reach JAGAT, where we'll stay in a place.
We're walking from Jagat to Dang through the village of Phillim. Along the way, we'll check our permits again after crossing a suspension wooden bridge and going up and down hills. You'll notice signs of Buddhist culture with the Mani stones and writing on stones. We'll keep walking until we reach Dang, where we'll spend the night.
Today, we're staying in Namrung village, which is one of the Buddhist villages in the Manaslu region. Along the trail, you'll see a monastery and lots of prayer flags, Mani walls, and chhortens. It's a beautiful village, and we'll spend the night here.
Today, we're walking to Lho where we'll spend the night. Lho is already at an altitude of 3,180 meters. The walk from Namrung to Lho is only about 4 hours. It's important to walk slowly and take breaks when we're at higher altitudes to stay healthy and make our Manaslu circuit trek successful.
From Samagaon village, you can see Mount Manaslu Himal and Kutang Himal. This village follows Buddhist traditions and is influenced by Tibetan culture because it's close to Tibet. You'll find lots of monasteries, Mani walls, and chhortens around the village. We'll spend the night in Samagaon village.
Today, we're taking it easy and resting in SAMAGAON village to get used to the altitude. You can do a short walk to the Manaslu base camp or Birendra Tal, where you can see great views of Samdo, the Manaslu glacier, Icefall, and the Himalayas. We'll spend the night at SAMAGAON village.
Today we'll stay overnight in SAMDO, which is 3,875 meters above sea level. From here, we can see excellent views of the Manaslu glacier/icefall and Mt. Manaslu Himal. On our way, we'll walk through juniper and birch forests before reaching SAMDO village.
We can see Annapurna II, which is 7,937 meters tall, Kang Guru at 6,981 meters, Himlung Himal at 7,126 meters, and Cheo Himal at 6,820 meters. The trekking path takes us through rocky hills made of moraines and we'll see the snowy mountains all around us. After crossing the pass, we'll go down a steep trail, passing through the Bimtang glacier, and finally, after about 11 hours of walking, we'll arrive at Bimtang. We'll spend the night there.
Note: If you want, we can change the holiday plans to fit your needs. We can make the trip shorter or longer based on what you want. We'll customize your holiday accordingly.
Water: Mineral waters are available at all stops during tea house treks (paying your own). You can also use tap water if you choose to use water purification tablets.
Medical support: An emergency first aid kit is carried by the support staff at all times.
Whether you are traveling for business or pleasure, travel insurance is a must. It will protect you from many risks, including medical emergencies, lost luggage, and flight accidents. It can also cover you for cancellations, legal expenses, and more.
While traveling to Nepal, you should ensure that you have adequate travel health insurance. It is very important to have the proper level of medical coverage, as medical care is expensive in the country. Fortunately, most policies include emergency medical evacuation costs.

What is the joining group in the Manaslu circuit trek?
Joining group departures are fixed dates and guaranteed to depart the trek with a minimum of two people to a maximum of 10 people in the group. The benefit of joining the group is sharing the cost at a lower price & share different experiences with other travelers during your holidays.
Are you planning for the Manaslu circuit trek by joining the group?
Yes, we have set planned joining group upcoming months and fixed dates. If you are alone or have more people & still want to join the group, you can ask our expert once. He will write a quick response as possible if the dates are available in your time frame and suggest the best as you wish and as a budget. Besides being attentive to us ... + See more , and checking on our well-being, we have lots of fun with Kama Dawa and Nangche and shared a great moment with them. We felt really lucky to share this trek with them and were an essential part of the success of the trek! Nir arranged our keep part of our luggage and deliver them to a different city at the end of the trek, enabling us to leave as light as possible. We had the possibility to meet him on the way back and discuss our experience and potential new adventures 😉 I would without any doubt recommend the Peace Nepal trek for your next trek in Nepal, and look forward to the next time I will have the opportunity to visit Nepal, what a beautiful country!! ... - See less

One week after the end of the trek wh ... + See more en we organized ourselves around Nepal, he met with us in Kathmandu and organized our transport to the airport. He works with a great staff. Our guide Kamadawa and our porter Nangche (Kamadawa's brother) were great during the entire trek: patients, fun, insightful, and supportive. They definitely put the customer's experience as their priority and it felt more friendship relation than business. I am considering going back soon for more trekking, and would definitely go back with the same team! ... - See less

Excellent trekking company and so much more! My sister and I planned to walk the Manaslu trek in March - the preparation information and equipment supply was first class from Nir. Then we met Sherpa Tirtha and Nonse - who were friendly and professional - which when I suddenly became unwell with Nir ensured I was taken care of quickly, not only that but the aftercare was that Nir arranged another trek for my sister (mardi which she thoroughly enjoyed)- and he visited me daily whilst in hospital ... + See more and on my discharge - I had the most amazing time - he organized a homestay ( fantastic insight into village life) and a stay in a monastery (absolutely incredible) to find a well run informed professional tour company is difficult enough, but one like Peace Nepal treks is unique - in their care and compassion and being able to think out of the box. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them! ... - See less

The best trekking company! Excellent personal service, an understanding of your personal needs, and the most professional team of Guides and Porters. The service from Nir was professional and tailored to our needs from start to finish. Spectacular trek in the Manaslu region A big thank you to Peace Nepal Treks for organizing our Manaslu circuit trek. Nir suggested an alternative route at the start which took us through the villages of Balua, Barprak, and Laprak and stayed in homestays which was one of the highlights of the trip. We were well looked after by our guide and porter, Prem and Raj, who seemed to enjoy the stunning scenery as much as we did and made sure we had good accommodation and everything we needed on the trip ... + See more . ... - See less

Great services, great people – what a trip! My girlfriend and I went to Nepal in October to trek in the Manaslu region. My girlfriend had found Peace Nepal Trek through one of her peers and this proved to be a very good choice! When we came to the airport in Kathmandu we were instantly greeted by Nir Lama, who helped us to our accommodations by car. During the drive, we discussed how we should get a hold of each other before the trip and chatted a little about Nepal and Kathmandu. We told hi ... + See more m that we had found two more trekkers through Trekkingspartners.com who would like to join the trip. This was no problem at all. Prior to the trip we went to PNT's main building in Thamel and got all the necessary things in place. Both my girlfriend and I needed a couple of trekking poles and I needed a warm sleeping bag, all of which was provided by Nir. When we commenced our trip it soon became apparent to us that our guide, Dubsang, was sturdy, humble, and very helpful. During the whole trip, he always saw to our health and mentality and did a wonderful job of keeping the spirit up if things went sour. Dubsang always maintained a perfect middle ground between professional distance and friendly curiosity. Our guide also had a lot of knowledge about the surroundings. During the trip, he gave us some historical insights and he knew several of the tea housekeepers which made our stays as comfortable as possible. We were quite unfortunate with the timing though. Since a raging typhoon had started blizzards in the mountains we were unable to cross Larke Pass and had to head back the way we came. This was the sucky part of the trip. But even then PNT was flexible and rearranged the transport. Once we came back to Kathmandu we had a debrief with Nir and even though the trip was in fact done, he still helped us with transport out to the airport. All in all, this has been a trip of a lifetime and we were all very happy with the professional and quite inexpensive services that Peace Nepal Treks has provided! ... - See less

We had an experienced guide, a great cook and the staff ... See more turned out to be very friendly and helpful. See less...
