Nir Lama, the head of Peace Nepal Treks (p) Ltd, embodies the spirit of Nepal’s tourism industry. Born in the village of Thulo Parsel, Nir moved to Kathmandu in 1997 to pursue his studies. After completing school, he followed in his father’s footsteps, joining the same trekking company where his father, a highly respected chef in the mountains, had worked. His father’s encouragement to learn about Nepal’s diverse regions inspired Nir to explore and understand his country deeply.
In 2002, Nir became a guide, driven by his passion for sharing Nepal’s beauty and culture with the world. He later decided to work independently, establishing a company that provides employment opportunities for many friends and relatives also engaged in mountain guiding. Nir’s mission is clear: “I want to provide work for Nepali people and showcase our beautiful country to visitors from around the world. Making friends from every corner of the globe is equally important to me.”
