Establish
: In 1973 A.D.

Area : 932 sq. kms,Listed world
haritage sites in 1984 A.D.
Location : Subtropical inner
Tarai lowlands of south – Central Nepal
Vegetation : Approximately 70%
Salforest, 20% Grassland, 17% Riverine forest
and 3% Sal with Chirpine.
Wildlife : There are more than
43 species of mammals in the park. The park is
especially renowned for the endangered one-horned
rhinoceros, royal bengal tiger and the gharial
crocodile along with many other common species
such as gaur, wild elephant, four-horned antelope,
striped hyena, pangolin, gangetic dolphin, monitor
lizard and python, deers, langurs and rhesus monkey.
Birds : There are over 850 species of
birds in Nepal among them only the 450 species
of birds can be found in Chitwan. They are Bengal
florican, Gaint hornbill, Lesser florican, Black
stork, White stork, Kingfishers, Woodpeckers,
Herons, Egrets, Flycatchers, Sunbirds, Water birds.

Activities : Elephant safari, Nature
walk, Dugout canoe ride, Culture tour, Camping,
Bird watching, Tharu village tour, culture programme,Elephant
breading center visit etc..
