This is an adventure trip for travelers on a limited time & budget. The breathtaking trans-Himalayan flight from Kathmandu toLhasa & the overland route from Lhasa to Nepal border offers truly spectacular views of the Himalayas, high mountain passes, ancient monasteries, fortresses & a people & culture from a bygone era.

The trip is scheduled fly in/drive out but is also operated drive in/fly out at sometimes depending on practical necessity. This tour is offered in 3 hotel categories to choose from depending on ones interest & budget; Lhasa Hotel(formerly Holiday Inn), Kyichu Hotel or similar & budget hotel.

Tibet Travels & Tours do not make any pretensions of offering very low budget tours in unmanageable big groups. Our group generally tends to be smaller & we make every effort, under the circumstances, to provide quality services at very reasonable prices. Our tour itinerary is better designed & additionally include visits to Shalu Monastery, Sakya Monastery & Milarepa Caves which most other operators skip.

7 NIGHTS / 8 DAY OVERLAND TOUR TO TIBET with Group Joining Basis

Day to Day Itinerary
Day 01	KATHMANDU (1300) – ZHANGUM (2,500M)/NYALAM (3700M):123 KM/156 KM Early morning scenic driver to KODARI (Nepal –Tibet border) through the beautiful Nepalese countryside and after necessary border formalities at Nepalese immigration, an hour adventurous uphill drive by truck (normally) or 2 hour walk uphill (in case of landslide) to Chinese immigration, check –in to hotel or continue drive to NALAM. Overnight at Guest House.
Day 02	ZHANGMU /NYALAM – TINGRI (4300M) LHATSE (4,350m):225 KM /224 KMDay drive uphill to the highest plateau of the world with the typical view of Tibetan landscape offering sheer feeling of standing on the roof of the world crossing over LALUNGLA (5,050 M), from where, weather permitting, breathtaking panorama of beautiful Himalayan ranges including MT CHO OYU (820 M) & MT XISHAPAGMA (8012 M) but dwarfed by the vastness of the Tibetan plateau .From TINGRI, one can enjoy the magnificence of MT.EVEREST (8,848 M).Overnight at Guest House.
Day 03	TINGRI / LHATSE – XIGATSE (3,900 M) : 90 KM Continue scenic drive crossing over GYATCHU LA (5,220 M), the highest pass en route to LHASA via LHATSE from where on road to MT KAILASH bifurcates to the west .Overnight at hotel.
Day 04	XIGATSE –GYANTSE (3,950 M): 90 KM Morning sightseeing to the PANCHEN LAMA’S TASHILHUMPU MONESTERY. Drive to GYANTSE and visit to the KUMBUM STUPA & PHALKOR MONASTER .Overnight at hotel.
Day 05	GYANTSE – LHAS (3,650 M): 261 KM Full day picturesque drive crossing over KAROLA (5,010 M) , KAMBALA(4,794 M) ,colorful YAMDROK LAKE and the Tibetan lifeline river BRAHMA PUTRA (YARLUNG TSANGO) – Overnight at hotel .
Day 06-07	IN LHASA Two full days sightseeing tour to LHASA including JOKHANG TEMPLE, BARKHOR BAZAAR, and POTALA PALACE DREPUNG & SERA MONASTERIES. Overnight at hotel.
Day 07	HASA – KATHMANDU: Early morning drive to GONGGAR airport for departure flight to KATHMANDU or the destination.
